Rule 1 R1 Whey Blend Protein
Product details
On this page
Rule 1 R1 Whey Blend is a 100% whey protein powder made from three types of whey: concentrate, isolate and hydrolysed isolate. Each 34 g scoop gives you 24 g of protein with 130 calories, 2 g of fat, 4 g of carbs and 0 g of added sugar. R1 Whey Blend is Informed Choice certified and comes in 2 lb, 5 lb and 10 lb sizes, in 15 flavours.
Why choose Rule 1 R1 Whey Blend protein
Rule One R1 Whey Blend is a premium, everyday protein built to support muscle recovery, lean muscle growth and daily performance. Rule 1 makes the formula from 100% whey protein, drawing on concentrate, isolate and hydrolysed whey. Every serve brings 24 g of fast-acting protein to help fuel recovery and keep your protein intake steady across the day.
R1 Whey Blend is loaded with naturally occurring EAAs, BCAAs and glutamine, which help support muscle repair, performance and training output, all while keeping taste and mixability a priority. The fully instantised powder mixes easily in water or milk, giving you a smooth texture without the heavy feel you often get from lower-quality blends.
Made for athletes, gym-goers and anyone who wants a dependable protein without overcomplicating supplements, R1 Whey Blend gives you quality nutrition, great flavour and strong value in one simple daily staple.
What R1 Whey Blend helps with

Ingredients
Protein blend (whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, hydrolysed whey protein isolate), cocoa (processed with alkali), natural and artificial flavours, lecithin, xanthan gum, cellulose gum, salt and sucralose. Contains milk and soy. This list is for Chocolate Fudge. Other flavours use different flavours and colours.
What is a whey blend?
A whey blend mixes more than one type of whey protein in the same scoop. R1 Whey Blend uses three:
- Whey protein concentrate (WPC): the creamiest, best-tasting type of whey, with a little more fat and lactose.
- Whey protein isolate (WPI): filtered further to remove most of the fat and lactose, for a higher share of protein.
- Hydrolysed whey protein isolate: isolate that has been broken down into smaller pieces, so your body can absorb the protein quickly.
Blending all three gives you the taste of concentrate with some of the speed and purity of isolate, at a better price than a pure isolate.
Whey blend vs whey isolate
- Protein: R1 Whey Blend has 24 g per 34 g scoop. A pure isolate like Rule 1 R1 Protein gives a little more protein per gram.
- Lactose: a blend has some lactose from the concentrate. If you are sensitive to lactose, an isolate or a lactose-free WPI like Switch WPI may sit better.
- Taste and texture: blends are often creamier because of the concentrate.
- Price: blends usually cost less per serve than pure isolates.
Sizes and value
- 2 lb: $109.95 for 28 serves, about $3.93 a serve.
- 5 lb: $229.95. About 66 scoops by weight, roughly $3.48 a serve.
- 10 lb: $319.95. About 133 scoops by weight, roughly $2.40 a serve. The best value if you have protein every day.
The 2 lb serve count is from the label. The 5 lb and 10 lb counts are worked out from the pack weight and the 34 g scoop, so check your pack.

How to take R1 Whey Blend
Add 1 scoop to 8 oz (about 240 ml) of cold water in a shaker or a large glass, then shake or stir. For an extra smooth shake, use a blender on high. You can also mix R1 Whey Blend with milk for a creamier shake, or add a scoop to smoothies, oats or yoghurt. Have one serve after training, and another during the day if you need more protein.
Who should take R1 Whey Blend?
R1 Whey Blend is a good fit for lifters and athletes who want an everyday protein at good value, people building muscle or trying to eat more protein, and tested athletes who want a protein that is Informed Choice certified.
Is R1 Whey Blend Informed Choice certified?
Yes. Informed Choice is a testing program that checks supplements for banned substances. Rule 1 says R1 Whey Blend is certified and free from banned substances, which matters if you compete in a tested sport.
Allergens and side effects
R1 Whey Blend contains milk and soy (from lecithin). Whey concentrate contains some lactose, so people with lactose intolerance may get bloating or wind. People with a milk or soy allergy should not use R1 Whey Blend. If you are new to protein shakes, start with one scoop a day and drink plenty of water.
