Ingredients

Hydrolysed collagen peptide protein (from bovine), cocoa, flavours, xanthan gum and sweetener (stevia). This is the Chocolate flavour. Other flavours use different flavourings.

Allergens: Reset Collagen Protein has no dairy ingredients, but the product is made on equipment that also makes products containing milk, soy and egg.

What are hydrolysed collagen peptides?

Collagen is the most common protein in the human body. Collagen is found in your skin, bones, tendons and joints. Hydrolysed collagen has been broken down into small pieces called peptides. Peptides dissolve easily in hot or cold liquids and are easy to digest, which is why collagen powder mixes smooth. Reset uses bovine (cow) collagen. Bovine collagen mostly provides type I and type III collagen, the two main types found in skin, bones and connective tissue.

Collagen protein vs whey protein

Collagen and whey are both animal proteins, but they do different jobs. Whey is high in leucine, the amino acid that switches on muscle building, so whey is the usual pick straight after a weights session. Collagen is rich in glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, the amino acids found in connective tissue, but collagen is low in leucine and is not a complete protein on its own. Collagen suits people who can't handle dairy, people who want protein in a hot drink, and anyone who wants extra protein spread across the day. Plenty of people use both: whey after training and collagen at other times.

How to take Reset Collagen Protein

• In a shaker: mix 1 scoop (30 g) with 400 to 500 ml of cold water.
• In a glass: Reset Collagen Protein dissolves easily, so you can simply stir a scoop into a glass with a spoon.
• With milk: the label also says you can mix 1 scoop into 400 ml of milk.
• Hot drinks: Unflavoured mixes into coffee, tea or smoothies.
• When: any time of day. Many people take collagen in the morning or after training.
